Once you've decided you want a career with us you will need to register an account, complete an application form and submit your CV.

We tailor our process to assess the right skills and experience for the role you apply for. If you get through to the next stage of the process, this could be any of the below:

: As a public sector arm's length body of the Department for Transport, all offers of employment are conditional upon satisfactory completion of Government Baseline Security Standards (BPSS).

Standard checks include a right to work and identity check, pre-employment verification covering the last three years, a basic criminal record check for any unspent convictions, and a medical assessment.

Some roles require additional checks, depending on the position.

National Security Vetting includes a counter-terrorist check in line with Home Office requirements for the transport sector.

For safety-critical roles, candidates must pass a face-to-face drugs and alcohol test. Offers will be withdrawn for positive results. Inconclusive results will be subject to further testing. Test results are securely stored on the Sentinel database. A positive result leads to a five-year suspension from applying to safety-critical or PTS-certified roles.
