About the role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Officer to provide technical support and delivery of projects delivered by the Works Delivery Track Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of track infrastructure projects.

 

Contract Type - Full-Time/ Permanent

Your experience and skills

1.              Provide technical and practical support for track-related projects.

2.              Produce technical paperwork and analyse data to ensure compliance with relevant standards.

3.              Collaborate with the delivery teams to ensure technical accuracy and quality.

4.              Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements, plans and other instructions.

5.              Adhere to company policies and procedures.

6.              Undertake and supervise technical tasks, survey and design work on site

7.              Manage information to update systems, databases and records.

8.              Support the Principal Technical officer and cover this role when required.

9.              Contribute to your own development and that of others.

 

Experience, skills, knowledge and competencies:

1.              Experience or strong interest in technical activities and techniques related to track construction.

2.              Ability to interpret technical documentation and standards.

3.              Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Excel, and data analysis tools.

4.              Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

5.              Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

6.              Knowledge and experience of Design and Construction of track standards.

7.              Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team.

8.              Able to communicate effectively with all teams verbally and in writing.

9.              Able to coach, influence and develop others.

10.          Hold and retain the competencies relevant to this post and required by business need.

11.          Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need.

 

Desirable

1.              Knowledge of track engineering standards and track renewal delivery processes.

2.              Experience working in a rail or infrastructure project environment.

3.              Trimble or 3D surveying techniques

4.              L1 and L2 stressor
