About the role

We are looking for an Asset Engineer to join our Lineside Asset Management team in Southern Region.

As part of Network Rail's Southern Region, our team is responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and functionality of a diverse asset portfolio of access facilities and pathways, and boundary fencing.

The successful candidate will play a key role in making informed, evidence-based decisions to manage these assets effectively. You will contribute to developing and implementing strategic intervention strategies and support the application of lineside asset management processes in line with Network Rail standards and policies. We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual who is keen to grow their expertise and work collaboratively within a dynamic team. While previous experience in lineside or asset management is desirable, strong analytical and communication skills are essential. We welcome applicants with a flexible, positive, and inclusive approach to working with others.

In return, you will enjoy a rewarding role with excellent opportunities for professional development and the chance to take real responsibility for improving the resilience of the railway.
