About the role
What does the average day look like?
Join our Technical Authority Environment & Sustainability team and help bring the Greener Railway Strategy to life. You'll work alongside colleagues to make sustainability part of everyday decisions across Network Rail. A typical day could involve finding ways to improve our integrated management system or helping another team build sustainability into its work, and shaping recommendations and turning them into practical action.
You'll be maintaining our sustainability assurance schedule, following up on delivery and recommendations, and spotting risks and opportunities along the way. By keeping our sustainability legal and compliance obligations register up to date and monitoring government consultations, you'll help us stay informed about changing requirements.
You'll build relationships across Network Rail and with external partners, bringing people and ideas together and sharing what we learn. Whether you're creating a briefing, case study or newsletter, keeping our sustainability web pages up to date, or supporting the Sustainability Integration Manager with capability and learning activities, you'll help make sustainability clear, accessible and practical for others, creating a culture of sustainability.
